Atendendo a pedidos divulgo aqui o software GdalToTilesWin V0.9 que foi desenvolvido pelo Luiz Mota, Analista Ambiental do IBAMA.

Este programa possibilita a visualização de imagens de satélite, georreferenciadas, (CBERS 2 E 2B ou outras) através do Google Earth e
está sendo usado no Centro de Sensoriamento Remoto – CSR/IBAMA.
Infelizmente é só pra Win, mas espero que os próximos passos sejam a evolução para um ambiente multiplataforma.

WHAT IS WHERE 2.0?
The single most important conference that focuses on new developments
in the geo-spatial industry. For three days, Where 2.0 takes place at the intersection of longitude, latitude, the Internet, ideas, and business value. Where 2.0 gathers the best and brightest minds in the
location-based industry to pitch ideas, present new products, and
identify the trends and technologies poised to revolutionize the geo-spatial arena.
JUST ADDED – PRACTICAL TUTORIALS
Thanks to a groundswell of popular interest, we’ve devoted a day to in-depth tutorials at Where 2.0. Tutorials are half-day sessions that
last a full three hours. Designed for participants to immerse themselves
into GIS technologies, these tutorials provide attendees with the
information, skills, and tools they need to return to work equipped to succeed.
If you would like to lead a tutorial, we are looking for proposals on
the following topics:

A Microsoft enfim mexeu seus pausinhos e comprou uma cadeira como membro principal no Open Geospatial Consortium.
Se não pode vencê-los junte-se a eles.
É inevitável o avanço dos padrões, o mercado exige isso, demanda interoperabilidade e qualquer software que não possua essas propriedades certamente cairá em ostracismo.
O problema é que agora eles têm poder de voto no consórcio, vamos ver o que eles vão sugerir.
Quero ver agora o Virtual Earth usando o KML do Google, já que este já é candidato a padrão OGC.

A nova versão do Google Earth apresenta uma novidade fenomenal. Quem cansou de viajar pelo planeta terra através da interface super interativa do Google Earth agora pode curtir o universo no que já é chamado de Google Sky por alguns.
O software tem dados de diversas fontes, além de imagens e informações sobre as constelações, planetas e estrelas. Uma mão na roda para quem, como eu, não tem um telescópio na varanda.
Não preciso dizer muita coisa além de “Produto Google”. Quem achava que o objetivo deles era dominar o mundo se enganou… “Para o alto e avante” é o lema deles.
